Best Boarding Schools

There are approximately 700 independent boarding schools in the UK, covering the age ranges 7 to 18 and a small number will cover the pre prep ages up to 7. In this section we cover 5 aspects of choosing a boarding school for your child.

A. Best Boarding School League Tables – transfer to this section to view the top boarding senior schools tables listed separately by boys, girls and co-educational. This only measures schools by A levels performance. For schools which do not meet the 100 threshold, their grades (but not a ranking) may be stated in the Find a school table if we obtained them. If the boarding school does not offer A levels (because they end at 11, 13 or 16) they are not included in the rankings. We only include schools with at least 20% boarders. It is unsatisfactory if there are less than 6 boarders in a year group
