Best Preparatory School

In this section of the website we cover how to choose the right independent prep or pre-prep school for your child. Preparatory schools cover the age ranges from 7 to 11 or 13. The Pre-prep years are usually from 3 to 7. Some schools will also cover the senior years as well, in which cases they are called an “all-through”, but they are still covered here.

B. League Tables. It is impossible to run a league table of the top prep schools but we do show the results of SATS Key Stage Two Tests as released by DFES. You are cautioned that only one third of schools supply their results to this table, such that the data is incomplete. Note that schools outside of the top 100 will sometimes have their performance listed by their entry in the Find a School section.
