Devonshire House is a large, co-educational prep school located in a quiet residential part of Hampstead with most children coming from the local area.  The school exudes a busy, happy atmosphere with large, bright classrooms and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The school provides an excellent academic education and children progress to a range of top senior schools. Girls leave at 11, mainly to go to one of the London day schools, and most boys leave at 13, many to boarding school. Devonshire House places a great emphasis on the well-being and mental health of the children, aiming to inspire confidence and build self-esteem. 

The school's teaching is praised in the ISI inspection reports, which state how well children are prepared for the next stage of their education. There are many international ex-pat families at the school and there are breakfast and after school clubs to cater for the needs of working parents.
