Radley College

What is Radley College like?

Radley College is one of the UK’s leading ‘public schools’ for boys. It is a full boarding school on a splendid 800 acre site in the village of Radley, near Oxford.  The facilities are outstanding an include a brand new block complete with light and airy café and gallery space. Radley has a strong Christian ethos with chapel four days each week. Academically, unlike in some boys’ schools, there is not a particularly strong focus on Maths and Sciences, although these are strong. Art, Classics, Languages and Geology are all popular subjects with excellent results. Sport is well catered for, and rowing and golf are popular.

Would Radley College be suitable for my child?

Radley College offers an excellent all-round, traditional British public school education for bright and hard-working boys. It is less well-known that schools like Eton and Harrow, but essentially fulfils the same purpose in a rather more down to earth and unpretentious setting.

How can I apply to Radley?

Traditionally it has been necessary to register a boy for entry when he was still very young, but Radley is becoming more flexible and will accept ‘late’ registrations around 10 years of age for entry at 13+. Boys generally take the ISEB Pre-test in Year 6, after which places are offered based on this and the current headteacher’s recommendation.
