Best Scottish Schools by A Levels

In this section we give you an assessment of the Top 10 A level Schools in Scotland for 2016. These positions are compiled from the average A* and A grade percentages out of all candidates taking A levels in Scottish schools. Note that many Scottish Schools offer Advanced Highers instead of A levels and these are listed separately. Children would typically choose an A level Scottish school if they were intending to apply to an English University.

We specialise in advising parents on the best schools to target for their children so please contact us for a free consultation to discuss your child's education on +44 1622 813870 or by completing an Enquiry Form.

Note 1. There may be a few gaps in our data, because the information is not freely available or a school will not supply it or the schools sixth form is too small to warrant being included. For those schools who refuse to supply data, we have to assume they are lower graded schools. We occasionally update the tables for remarks but not if it prejudices the schools which have not supplied them.

Note 2. Exam results are not the only criteria by which to judge a school (read our eGuide on selection factors click here). Indeed some of the schools in this Top 10 table are quite selective on their admissions. Be aware your child may not necessarily thrive in a high pressure academic environment - take our advice.
