Eagle House School

Sandhurst, Berkshire, GU47 8PH, United Kingdom

Set in 30 acres of leafy Berkshire countryside, Eagle House feels like a bigger school because of its close links with Wellington College, one of the UK’s most academically successful and sought after senior boarding schools, which is just through the woods. The school has grown enormously over the last few years and, whereas historically it was a small, all boys boarding and day school, it is now fully co-educational.

There is a maximum class size of 18 children, and generally there are around 50 in each year group. The school has adopted a broad curriculum with hour-long lessons. Saturday school happens every fortnight which includes academic lessons followed by activities focused on service and leadership. There is a separate class in Year 7 and 8 for scholarship students. Around 65% of children progress to Wellington, with the rest winning places at a range of other top schools.

Music and drama are very strong and the majority of children have instrumental lessons. Sport takes place every day, and for boys this includes football, rugby, hockey and cricket and for girls netball, hockey and cricket. There are mixed teams for boys and girls. In addition there are many other sports and activities on offer.

Eagle House is relatively non-selective on entry, but they will only accept children who will cope with the full and busy curriculum. This is a progressive and welcoming school where children feel happy and supported to achieve their best.
