What is King's Bruton like?
King's Bruton founded in 1519, is a co-educational boarding school with day pupils fully integrated into boarding houses. While not a selective school and proud of having range of mixed ability students, all pupils are supported to fulfil their academic potential and there is an extensive range of opportunities on offer. Their recent 500th year anniversary saw the opening of a new Sixth Form centre, fitness suite, new music school and introduction of BTECs into the school. The school aims to provide a holistic education to its students and offers a warm and supportive boarding community. Overall, there is a friendly atmosphere to be found in this down to earth and happy school.

Life at King’s is full of variety and opportunities. Pupils enjoy a broad and challenging academic curriculum. Outside of the classroom there is a myriad of sports to take part in and a plethora of chances to shine musically or dramatically. King’s is proud of its Christian ethos and the Chaplaincy provides countless moments during the week when pupils can, if they wish, explore matters of faith.
The extracurricular activities programme remains wide-ranging and ever-changing whilst there are scores of chances for pupils to spread their wings during CCF and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. At the heart of the King’s Bruton community lies the six boarding houses, each with their own unique identity and fantastic system of pastoral care and support for pupils.

As with all schools, it is best to register interest early. King’s Bruton is non-selective, and applications are welcome from all pupils who have the potential to make the most of the wealth of opportunities that King’s Bruton can offer.
